Prescott, Arizona, soon to be our permanent winter home
Hi all! After a wonderful month in Colorado, we took our time heading to Prescott, where we spent the month of October house-hunting and visiting with family. The big news is that we are buying a sweet little manufactured home, 3-bedroom, 2-bath, in a fairly new development called Orchard Ranch North, a 55+ community. The original park, Orchard Ranch, has an RV section we’ve stayed in during our travels and really enjoyed the setting. When they began building the newer North section in 2019, we went, “Hmmmmmmm…. could this be a place we could live?”
Turns out we can… here are some shots of the house in question; we’re hoping to close on 12/1. The house is “for sale by owner,”which means there are no realtors involved (tricky to find a broker who wants to deal with FSBO on a manufactured home). So it means I’m jumping through hoops to handle all the parts a realtor usually does with some help from our realtor daughter-in-law, but this will be worth it!
By purchasing here, it means we can spend the next few summers in the RV in Michigan and mild winters in the house in Prescott. It also means stops in Colorado every spring and summer as we travel between the two points. Best of all worlds!
Below are some pics; click on them for a larger view. You’ll notice the carpet was removed as the owners were getting ready to replace it when the husband passed away. 🙁

We’re currently wintering in Phoenix with our great friends WaSu, and will stay here until 3/1, when the carpet, painting and moving are all done. Wish us luck!
Looks like you had a great winter. We miss you and hope we’ll get to run into you during 2021!!!

I was just there on Monday, left yesterday (Nov 30th). I have a sister and brother in law and a friend since childhood that live in Prescott Valley. Nice area and I’m sure you will enjoy it,
